My 2011 Awards (6th draft)

By Edward Copeland
Have I mentioned how much I hate the movie Bridesmaids? I chose that photo because Melissa McCarthy was the only good thing in that turd. Also, I try to select a photo that's somehow emblematic of the year in film without giving away what my winners happen to be.
I always try to unveil my 10 best list and personal awards prior to the Oscars. The great advantage I have over the Academy is that I can go back and revise them forever as I see more things I haven't had the chance to or if I revisit films and change my mind. I know these awards most definitely will be revised because my foreign film category only contains three nominees as of now since I've only managed to see four foreign films from 2011 as of now. Luckily, all four were good so I didn't have to omit any of them.
The Academy isn't alone in changing the rules on documentary eligibility. I've decided that if a documentary started appearing at festivals, even though I obviously couldn't be there, it counts for my awards whether or not it received theatrical release, since that can be because of skittish distributors.
Reminder: As always, I spread the wealth so I do my best not to nominate any individual performance more than once. So, if you wonder why I didn't nominate someone in an individual acting category, it could be because they are represented in the duo or ensemble categories. Also, for the first time this year, good performances by those younger than 18 at the time of shooting were bountiful, especially among the young men, so I've divided my performer under 18 category into two categories by gender. So, here they are (as of April 24, 2012).
